Hundreds of millions of users, highly sophisticated algorithms, China-specific business models, all within a strict regulatory environment. This and much more, is China’s social media today. As Chinese-born social media companies are increasingly present abroad, many wonder what is China’s social media ecosystem and how is reshaping and will be reshaping the economy and society in China and globally. In this informal talk, prominent speakers will be sharing their views on the specificities of Chinese social media compared to the West and on the regulatory environment for social media in the country.

The event will be opened by the Ambassador of the European Union to China, Jorge Toledo and by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to China, Vladimír Tomšík.
